SEVILLE, Spain — Sevilla has signed Dutch forward Quincy Promes from Spartak Moscow on a five-year deal.

Promes was last season’s top scorer in the Russian league with 15 goals from 26 games and scored twice for Spartak against Sevilla in the Champions League.

The 26-year-old left winger was a fan favourite at Spartak after helping the team win the Russian title in 2017. He scored 66 goals in 135 appearances. His departure follows Spartak’s failure to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League.

On Twitter, Promes wrote "thank you for all the beautiful moments that we created together, we achieved things that I’ll never forget."

Promes has scored five goals in 28 appearances for the Dutch national team.
