Toronto FC sign Ibrahim from FC Dallas

Toronto FC announced the signing of forward Abdus "Ibee" Ibrahim from FC Dallas. In exchange, Dallas receives a conditional draft pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft.

Ibrahim, 16, was the second youngest player ever to be selected in an MLS Superdraft, following 14-year old Freddy Adu in 2004. Ibrahim was chosen in the 2nd Round (14th overall) in 2007.

"He’s a tremendous young talent," said manager, director of soccer Mo Johnston. "Ibee’s got loads of potential and he could possibly be a major player for Toronto FC in years to come. He’s been in Dallas for a year and a bit, and we’re very fortunate to get a deal done. It’s great to add a young talent to your squad, especially one that’s Generation Adidas."

Ibrahim was a past member of U.S. Soccer’s U-17 Residency Program in 2006. The forward was also a member of the U.S. U-17 FIFA World Cup team that played in South Korea in 2007 where he appeared in all four matches. Later that year he was called up to the U.S. U-20 camp held in Argentina where he featured in all three games against Argentina, River Plate and Uruguay.
