TFC sells out 16,000 season tickets

TORONTO — Toronto FC’s season tickets are sold out.

The club announced Monday that it had sold the 16,000 season tickets at BMO Field for the 2008 season, the team’s second in Major League Soccer.

That surpasses the 14,000 seats that were set aside for season ticket holders in the team’s inaugural campaign.

"We continue to be amazed by the support from our fans," the club’s director of business Paul Beirne said in a release.

Toronto finished 6-17-7 and last in the MLS in its rookie year, but enjoyed among the largest crowds in the league.

Toronto FC still has half season tickets packages, as well as TFC/Toronto Marlies all-season packages.
