Toronto FC unveils ‘Championship’ away kit for 2018 season

Toronto FC GM Tim Bezbatchenko joins the Jeff Blair Show to discuss the club's signing of Dutch defender Gregory van der Wiel, and where their focus lies heading into a Championship defense season.

A new season means a new kit for Toronto FC, who unveiled its 2018 away jersey on Friday.

The kit is somewhat similar to last year’s away jersey, but features more white compared to the 2017 edition. It also has a gold star above the crest to signify the team’s MLS Cup win last season, the “All For One” slogan on the neckline and a maple leaf on the patch.

Toronto’s first competitive match is on Tuesday versus the Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in the Round of 16 in the CONCACAF Champions League. TFC opens its MLS season on March 3 against the Columbus Crew at BMO Field in a rematch of last season’s Eastern Conference final.
