Players based in the United Kingdom will not attend the Canadian men’s national team camp in Bradenton, Fla., later this month, Canada Soccer announced on Tuesday.

Theo Corbeanu, who has been called up to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ matchday squad in the Premier League for the past few weeks, will remain in England along with Arsenal’s Marcelo Flores.

This camp was seen as an opportunity to entice dual nationals like Flores to commit to the Canadian program, as he’s also eligible for Mexico and England. The 17-year-old played for the Mexican U-16 team in 2019 and was called up by England’s U-16s that same year.

Toronto FC forward Ayo Akinola is another player who is mulling his international future as he can play for Canada, the U.S. and Nigeria. Akinola represented the U.S. at the youth level and even scored for the United States in a December 2020 friendly vs. El Salvador.
