VALENCIA, Spain — Valencia says left back Jose Gaya has agreed to extend his contract for five seasons, tying him to the Spanish club until 2020.
The 19-year-old Gaya has enjoyed a breakout season, helping Valencia rise into fourth place with three rounds to play.
Spanish media had speculated that Real Madrid was interested in luring Gaya to the powerhouse.
Valencia visits second-place Madrid on Saturday.
