LONDON — Premier League clubs have decided not to introduce video assistant referees next season.
With the technology experiencing teething problems, the top English league is stalling on the implementation of VAR.
The league says clubs decided at a meeting Friday in London to continue advanced testing instead to "make further improvements to the system, especially around communication inside the stadium and for those following at home and around the world."
The league wants VAR to be tested more in the FA Cup and League Cup.
VARs are already being used in leagues, including the Bundesliga, and will be at the World Cup in Russia.
