ST. LOUIS _ The Vancouver Whitecaps overcame a red card to striker Cornelius Stewart and held on for a 0-0 draw with AC St. Louis in USSF Division 2 soccer action Saturday.
Stewart was sent off in the 67th minute after picking up his second red card of the night when the referee booked him for diving. The foul camer just four minutes after Stewart’s first yellow card.
The Whitecaps (5-2-6), who have completed three games of their five-match road swing, extended their unbeaten streak to five games.
St. Louis fell to 2-7-2.
Vancouver leads the NASL Conference by four points over Montreal, which tied Carolina 2-2 on Saturday.
It was the Whitecaps first trip to St. Louis for a competitive match in over 33 years.
