The Vancouver Whitecaps look to put the brakes on a two-match losing streak when they visit Sporting Kansas City on Friday as heavy +575 underdogs on the MLS odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Vancouver has struggled since opening the campaign with one-goal victories over Montreal and Houston, going 1-1-3 in five outings since, but still maintains a share of second place on the Western Conference table going into Friday night’s game at Children’s Mercy Park.

The Whitecaps fell 2-0 to visiting Los Angeles FC last weekend as -120 chalk after dropping a 2-1 decision to Real Salt Lake as a +320 bet on April 7, but own a respectable 2-0-2 road record this season despite surrendering an average of two goals per match.

Sporting KC aims to extend their lead atop the Western Conference as they welcome Vancouver to town as -200 favourites. Sporting have dominated since opening the campaign with a 2-0 loss to New York City FC. The club has averaged 2.33 goals per game during a 4-0-2 run to climb to +1400 on the MLS Cup odds, but has tallied just one total goal in four straight losses to Vancouver.

The Impact will also be trying to halt a two-match slide when they take on Los Angeles FC as +125 home favourites in their first contest of the season at Stade Saputo. The club has felt the effect of injuries to defenders Zakaria Diallo, Kyle Fisher, and Michael Petrasso while getting outscored by a 7-1 margin during its current slide, capped by last week’s 3-1 loss to the New York Red Bulls as a +550 underdog.

Montreal has also surrendered a worrisome 11 total goals during a dismal 1-0-5 run on home turf, but could be facing a road-weary Los Angeles squad that trails as a +195 underdog in Saturday’s contest.

Toronto FC will also be in action on Saturday afternoon as they visit the Houston Dynamo as lengthy +600 underdogs. TFC have endured a slow start to the season following last fall’s march to the MLS Cup championship. The Reds are currently mired in last place on the Eastern Conference table with a 1-0-3 record, and have been bumped from their perch atop the odds to win the MLS Cup, where they now trail NYC FC and Atlanta United as a +700 bet.

The Reds also have their backs to the wall in their CONCACAF Champions League Finals matchup with Chivas, as they prepare to travel to Guadalajara for next Wednesday’s second leg after falling 2-1 as -145 home favourites in first leg action on Tuesday night.
