Ibrahimovic: Soccer’s greatest goal?

Leave it to Zlatan Ibrahimovic to stir the debate.

Ever since the "Super Swede" scored that spectacular bicycle kick from 30 yards out in a friendly against England on Wednesday, fans around the world have argued whether or not it’s the best goal in soccer history.

No doubt, Ibrahimovic’s goal was stunning, and if you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favour and marvel at his genius by watching the video below.

But is it the best goal of all time? Where does it stand among the game’s truly iconic goals?

What about Diego Maradona’s slalom, solo run against England in the 1986 World Cup quarter-finals forever known as the "Goal of the Century"?

Or Marco van Basten’s incredible volley for the Netherlands versus the Soviet Union in the final of Euro ’88?

Brazil’s last goal in its 4-1 win over Italy in the 1970 World Cup final, finished off by Carlos Alberto Pereira, is also worthy of consideration.

As is Roberto Baggio’s effort for Italy at the 1990 World Cup.

And for pure artistry, it’s hard to beat Archie Gemmell’s ballet-like goal for Scotland at the 1978 World Cup against the Netherlands.

But what do you think?
