Sportsnet Announces 2013-14 Vancouver Canucks Regional Broadcast Schedule

– Sportsnet to deliver four pre-season and 57 regular season Vancouver Canucks games in 2013-14, more than any other Canadian broadcaster –

– Schedule features eight all-Canadian matchups and 19 games versus rivals in newly realigned Pacific Division –

– Sportsnet has more hockey TV coverage featuring Canadian NHL teams than any other broadcaster in Canada with more than 250 games –

 

TORONTO (August 28, 2013) Sportsnet today announced its 2013-14 Vancouver Canucks regional broadcast schedule, featuring four pre-season and 57 regular season games on television. Pre-season action begins Monday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. PT on Sportsnet Pacific while regular season coverage begins Sunday, Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. PT on Sportsnet Pacific as the Canucks visit the Calgary Flames. Forty-nine of Sportsnet’s regular season Canucks games will air on Sportsnet Pacific, while eight will air on the Sportsnet ONE companion channel, Sportsnet Vancouver Hockey. All games will feature play-by-play announcer John Shorthouse, former Canucks goalie and analyst John Garrett and host Dan Murphy. HOCKEY CENTRAL will preview every game with a half-hour pre-game show, as well as provide intermission and post-game analysis.

 

Highlights from the 2013-14 Vancouver Canucks broadcast schedule on Sportsnet includes:

  • Eight all-Canadian matchups, including games versus Calgary, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Montreal
  • Canucks visits Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. PT
  • A date in New York to face former head coach Alain Vigneault and the New York Rangers on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. PT

 

This season marks the first year of a recently renewed 10-year broadcast extension between Sportsnet and the Vancouver Canucks, continuing a 15-year network tradition as the regional television broadcaster of Canucks hockey.  In addition to being the official regional television broadcast rights holders for the Vancouver Canucks, Sportsnet is the official regional television broadcast rights holder for the Calgary Flames (including radio rights on Sportsnet 960 The FAN), Edmonton Oilers, Ottawa Senators, and Toronto Maple Leafs (including radio rights on Sportsnet 590 The FAN).
