BARCELONA, Spain — Daniel Nestor felt pretty fortunate to be lifting another trophy.

The Canadian and partner Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia won their second straight clay title Sunday, posting a 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 win over Australia’s Lleyton Hewitt and Mark Knowles of the Bahamas at the Barcelona Open.

It was the fourth title of the season for Nestor and Zimonjic.

"This is just unbelievable, we’ve really been playing well," said Nestor. "This was a tough win all the way, since we were behind from the start. Nenad and I really played well when we had to and we were lucky to pull this one out."

Nestor and Zimonjic were broken in the very first game and ended up dropping the first set in 32 minutes. After taking the second set, they had three match points in the tiebreaker before finally finishing off their opponents.

The loss denied Hewitt his third career doubles title — his first two came a decade ago when he was an up-and-coming teenager.

Nestor and Zimonjic improved their overall record in finals to 20-9. They also won tournaments this season in Sydney, Rotterdam and at Monte Carlo a week earlier.

Nestor now stands fifth on the all-time doubles list with 68 career titles.
