AMSTERDAM, Netherlands — Robin Haase and Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands beat Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka 6-4, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in Saturday’s doubles to cut Switzerland’s lead to 2-1 in their Davis Cup World Group playoff.
The Dutch pair dominated the 2008 Olympic doubles champions in the first two sets before Federer and Wawrinka bounced back to take the third on a temporary outdoor clay court.
Haase and Rojer then broke Federer’s serve in the seventh game of the fourth set and broke Wawrinka to seal the match.
Federer plays Haase in the first of Sunday’s reverse singles and Wawrinka takes on Thiemo de Bakker in the final match.
