Denis Shapovalov became a star thanks to his performance at the Rogers Cup earlier this month and the 18-year-old Canadian is off to another strong start at the U.S. Open.
Playing in his first match at the legendary Arthur Ashe Stadium, Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ont., upset eighth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in straight sets to move onto the third round.
Shapovalov has become a must-watch player on the ATP World Tour ever since he upset Rafael Nadal in dramatic fashion in Montreal.
He faces Kyle Edmund next, but before then let’s take a look at some reaction to his victory over Tsonga.
