Fernandez defeats 5th seed Svitolina to advance to US Open semifinals

Canada’s Leylah Fernandez advanced to her first Grand Slam semifinal after defeating fifth-seeded Elina Svitolina in three sets. Fernandez becomes the youngest player to defeat two WTA Top-5 players at the same major since Serena Williams in 1999.
