The UFC is currently in the midst of a lengthy winter break, but the organization is continuing to fill out their upcoming cards.
More fights were officially announced Thursday for an upcoming Fight Night card next month in Texas as the UFC sent out a press release alerting mixed martial arts fans about when tickets go on sale for the Feb. 21 event at Houston's Toyota Center.
An anticipated middleweight matchup between Sean Strickland and Anthony Hernandez, which was previously announced, is scheduled to headline the event.
A featherweight bout between divisional stalwart Dan Ige and red-hot Melquizael Costa was perhaps the most notable of the newest announced matchups.
Ige is a 20-fight UFC veteran and currently the No. 14-ranked contender in the 145-pound weight class. The 34-year-old American has lost three of four and went 1-1 in 2025 with a technical knockout win over Sean Woodson in April and a decision loss to Patricio “Pitbull” Freire in July.
Meanwhile, Costa extended his winning streak in December with one of the biggest knockouts of the year. The 29-year-old from Brazil put Morgan Charrière away with a highlight-reel head kick to win his fifth consecutive outing. He will be looking to break into the official fighter rankings with a win over Ige.
Also announced for the card, Serghei Spivac and Ante Delija are set to face off in a meeting of top-10 heavyweight contenders. Both are coming off losses to Waldo Cortes-Acosta in 2025 with No. 7 Spivac dropping a decision in June and No. 9 Delija losing via controversial stoppage at the start of November.
Dana White’s Contender Series standouts Jacobe Smith and Seokhyeon Ko will throw down in a welterweight contest, plus Houston’s own Zachary Reese takes on Brazil’s Michel Pereira.
