Danny Barlow lived up to his "LeftHand2God" nickname and then some during his UFC debut.
The undefeated welterweight earned a knockout win over Josh Quinlan at UFC 298 and confirmed this week he landed the finishing blows with a broken arm.
Barlow posted a photo of his x-ray with the caption reading, “Broke my arm early in the first round, and remembered coach telling me ‘stop feeling sorry for yourself.’”
The fact the UFC newcomer sustained the injury so early yet was able to remain poised and continue landing at a high rate is a testament to Barlow’s potential.
Barlow outlanded his opponent 96-36 in total strikes and connected on 54 significant head strikes over the final two rounds alone with the knockout coming at 1:18 of the third round. The finishing sequence was primarily left hands.
The 28-year-old from Memphis improved to 8-0 in pro mixed martial arts with his win over Quinlan.
It’s unclear how long Barlow will be out of action recovering from his arm injury.
