A pivotal bout at 185 pounds is set to headline a UFC Fight Night event in April that could have future title implications.
The UFC announced a five-round middleweight matchup between No. 4-ranked contender Darren Till vs. No. 5-ranked Marvin Vettori on Thursday.

Till (18-3-1) is coming off a five-round unanimous decision loss to former champion Robert Whittaker in July. The Liverpool native’s only win since moving up from the welterweight division in 2019 was over Kelvin Gastelum.
Vettori (16-4-1) is riding a four-fight winning streak, including a five-round unanimous decision victory over Jack Hermansson in a December main event. The Italian’s only loss in the past four years was a split decision against reigning champion Israel Adesanya, who will move back down to his regular weight class after failing to capture the light-heavyweight title at UFC 259.
Adesanya is expected to defend his title against the winner of Whittaker vs. Paulo Costa after they meet on April 17. The winner of Till-Vettori could also be next in line for either a title shot or an eliminator bout.
The UFC also announced a featherweight bout between rising contenders Arnold Allen and Sodiq Yusuff, whose combined UFC record of 11-0, plus Nina Ansaroff vs. Mackenzie Dern at strawweight.
