Dricus Du Plessis is back in the win column.
The South African defeated Kamaru Usman by unanimous decision on Saturday's UFC Fight Night in Oklahoma City.
Du Plessis bounces back after losing his middleweight championship to Khamzat Chimaev last August. Before losing his title, he had won his first nine straight fights in the UFC.
The 32-year-old now holds a professional record of 24-3-0.
Usman, a former welterweight champion, continues on a downward spiral with this loss. Despite beating Joaquin Buckley in his previous fight last June, he has now lost four of his last five bouts, and he's 0-2 at middleweight.
The 39-year-old had a great run in his prime; he held the title for over two years and successfully defended it five times.
Du Plessis, the No. 2 contender entering the fight, may now look for a title bout against current middleweight champion Sean Strickland.
