Deiveson Figueiredo will be defending his flyweight title for the first time when he takes on Alex Perez at UFC 255 as a -285 favourite on the UFC odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The "God of War" claimed the vacant UFC flyweight championship in his last outing, finishing Joseph Benavidez by submission in the opening round of their clash at UFC Fight Island 2, and lifting his professional MMA record to a sparkling 19-1 going into Saturday night's bout at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

Figueiredo's victory over Benavidez as a -230 wager at online betting sites marked his fourth straight win, and earned him his first career Performance of the Night bonus. Overall, the 32-year-old Brazilian has finished opponents in 16 of 19 career victories, but has also seen three of nine fights decided by the judges since joining the UFC back in 2017.

Perez makes his first bid for a UFC title as a +225 underdog. The 28-year-old California native enters the octagon riding a three-fight win streak, with each of his past two victories coming inside five minutes.

After ending Jordan Espinosa's evening with a first-round submission win as a -250 wager at UFC Fight Night 166, Perez followed up with a speedy TKO win over Jussier Formiga at UFC 250. In addition to earning him a pair of Performance of the Night bonuses, Perez's two recent wins extended an impressive run that has seen him claim victory in the first round in three of his past five fights.

Earlier on Saturday, the UFC women's flyweight title will be on the line as reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko clashes with Jennifer Maia as a heavy -1600 favourite. Shevchenko continued her recent domination as champion with a third-round TKO victory over Katlyn Chookagian as a -900 wager at UFC 247, and is now undefeated in five outings since returning to the UFC women's flyweight division in early 2018.

Listed as a +800 underdog, Maia earned Performance of the Night honours with a first-round submission win over Joanne Calderwood last time out at UFC Vegas 5, ending a run of eight straight fights that were decided by the judges.

Elsewhere on the UFC 255 odds, Mike Perry looks to tally consecutive wins for the first time in over three years as he battles fellow welterweight Tim Means as -155 chalk. Chookagian looks to get back into the win column as she squares off against Cynthia Calvillo as a +210 underdog. And after their meeting at UFC Fight Night 164 ended in a draw, heavyweight Paul Craig sits favoured in his rematch with Mauricio Rua as -185 chalk.
