It might be a while before Tom Aspinall is back in the octagon.
The UFC heavyweight champion revealed Tuesday on The Ariel Helwani Show that he may need surgery on both eyes.
Aspinall added that he will soon be receiving an injection in his eye.
The 32-year-old suffered the eye injury in his last title defence against Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 on Oct. 25, which ended in a no-contest after Aspinall was poked in the eye and unable to continue.
Aspinall has been limited to lifting weights and light cardio since the injury.
Aspinall has held his title since Nov. 11, 2023, when he defeated Sergei Pavlovich to become interim champion while the undisputed champion Jon Jones was injured. Aspinall was crowned the new undisputed heavyweight champion when Jones retired in June 2025.
