One of the biggest MMA stars in Japan has joined the UFC.
Kai Asakura announced on Sunday that he would be giving up his Rizin bantamweight title and joining the UFC. His first fight in the federation has not yet been set.
Asakura, 30, has an overall MMA record of 21-4 including 13 TKO wins. Asakura is a two-time bantamweight champion in Rizin and was the current title holder after his TKO finish of Juan Archuleta at Rizin 45 on Dec. 31.
Sean O'Malley is the current bantamweight title holder in UFC.
