The long-awaited fight card for Noche UFC in San Antonio is finally starting to come together.
Headlining the event, set to take place on Sept. 13, is a bout between big-name featherweight contenders Diego Lopes and Jean Silva, as well as a featured bout between women's strawweight stars Amanda Lemos and Tatiana Suarez, the UFC announced Thursday.
Lopes, 30, is coming off a loss in the first title fight of his UFC career, losing by decision to the legendary Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 314 in April. Prior to the defeat, Lopes had torn through the featherweight table with multiple Performance of the Night bonuses.
The Manaus, Brazil, native has a 26-7 record in pro MMA and a 5-2 record since joining UFC in 2023. Along with his two Performance of the Night bonuses, he earned Fight of the Night cheques in his two losses to Volkanovski and Movsar Evloev in his UFC debut.
Silva, meanwhile, is undefeated since joining UFC in 2024. Much like Lopes, the 28-year-old has become must-see TV with two Performance of the Night and one Fight of the Night bonus in his five UFC bouts.
The Fighting Nerds gym member is currently ranked ninth on the featherweight ladder and could be in line for a big climb up the rankings should he take down the No. 4 Lopes. He is currently 16-2 in pro MMA (5-0 in UFC) and is coming off a beatdown of Bryce Mitchell at UFC 314
On the women's side, Lemos, a former strawweight title challenger, is coming off a win against Iasmin Lucindo at UFC 313 in March that brought her record in the promotion to 9-4. She's 15-4-1 overall in pro MMA.
She'll square off against another title challenger in Suarez, who most recently lost to strawweight champ Zhang Weili at UFC 312 in February. Prior to the defeat, the American wrestling star had an unblemished 7-0 record in UFC and 10-0 in pro MMA.
Suarez is ranked sixth on the strawweight ladder while Lemons is fourth.
