"After careful consideration and talking with my team and medical professionals, I've had to make the heartbreaking decision to pull out of my fight this week," Diaz wrote in an Instagram post on Monday. "This isn't a choice I ever thought I'd have to make, but my health and safety have to come first."
Diaz was slated to take on Ateba Gautier as the featured prelim bout. It is unclear if Gautier will remain on the card.
UFC 320 would have been Diaz's third fight with the promotion — going 1-1 in his first couple fights, with his last being a loss at UFC 313 in March 2025 to Djorden Santos. However, the 34-year-old previously fought on Season 6 of Dana White's Contender Series, Bellator and the Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), where he held the title.
Over his career, the American fighter owns a record of 10-3 with only two wins heading to the judges' table.
