It's a homecoming for Rafael Fiziev.
The Azerbaijani Fiziev will fight Ignacio Bahamondes in the co-main event in the first-ever UFC event in Baku, Azerbaijan on June 21, the promotion announced Friday.
Fiziev (12-4), the 11th-ranked lightweight contender, was one of the up-and-comers in the division after winning six straight fights from Oct. 2019 to July 2022. However, the 32-year-old has lost his last three bouts, including two to Justin Gaethje and to Mateusz Gamrot in which he suffered a knee injury mid-fight.
In the other corner is Bahamondes (17-5), a 27-year-old Chilean fighter who's coming off three consecutive finishes. He last fought in March 2025, where he submitted Jalin Turner.
Headlining UFC Baku is a light heavyweight bout between former champ Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr. Rounding out the card will be:
