Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson is ready to call it a career.
In an upcoming interview with Ozoon's James Lynch, Thompson said his fight against Charles Radtke at UFC 334 in New York on Nov. 14 will be his last.
"It's my last one, brother," Thompson said in a clip Lynch released on YouTube Thursday ahead of the interview's full release. "And what better place to have it than Madison Square Garden, New York City?"
The 43-year-old Thompson has been competing in the UFC since 2012, when he began his career by winning eight of his first nine fights. He earned two shots at the welterweight title at UFC 205 in November 2016 and at UFC 209 the following March. However, he dropped both bouts by majority decision to the reigning champion Tyron Woodley.
Thompson now enters his fight with Radtke as the owner of a 17-9-1 record. He has lost three straight bouts, most recently dropping a split decision to Gabriel Bonfim at a UFC Fight Night event in July 2025.
As he now turns the page on his career towards retirement, Thompson cited his daughter as a reason that he is ready to move on. But he also left the door open to a potential future return.
"My body feels good," Thompson told Lynch. "I feel great. I can keep going. But I have a baby girl now. ... (I'm) 'Wonderdad' now. That definitely changes your mindset a little bit. We'll see as she's older where I'm at. You might see me again."
