Dustin Poirier was the first fighter to step on the scale Friday morning at the official UFC 302 weigh-ins. The lightweight title challenger was on championship weight, an even 155 pounds, just like the defending champion Islam Makhachev, who would successfully made weight moments later.
The co-main event was also made official as Sean Strickland and Paulo Costa were both 185 pounds ahead of their anticipated five-round middleweight bout.
All 10 fighters scheduled to compete on the pay-per-view main card were on point, including Alexander Romanov, who weighed in at the heavyweight limit.
One fighter from the preliminary card missed weight.
Flyweight André Lima was four pounds heavy ahead of his preliminary bout with short-notice opponent Mitch Raposo.
Lima is having a memorable 2024, winning his organizational debut in March after his opponent was disqualified for biting, but missing weight by such a wide margin is not the way to make a positive impression on UFC brass.
The 25-year-old Brazilian is being fined 30 per cent of his purse for the weight miss but his matchup with Raposo will go as scheduled.
