Saturday’s UFC Fight Night event has undergone several changes, with the organization announcing multiple replacement opponents and multiple fight cancellations.

A co-main event bout between Chris Gutierrez and Javid Basharat has been changed after Bashrat was removed from the card due to an undisclosed injury and replaced with undefeated Quang Le, who will be making his UFC debut.

Le is 8-0 as a pro and has recently been competing in the LFA promotion. He had a September matchup scheduled for Dana White’s Contender Series but is taking the opportunity to step into the UFC spotlight on short notice against a veteran bantamweight in Gutierrez instead.

Gutierrez is 8-3 in the UFC with a notable highlight knockout win over former champion and Hall of Famer Frankie Edgar. Gutierrez last fought in December, when he lost a decision to Song Yadong.

Danny Barlow was originally scheduled to face Uros Medic in a welterweight bout on the main card but Medic withdrew with a rib injury and is being replaced by UFC newcomer Nikolay Veretennikov of Kazakhstan who previously competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, during which he lost a unanimous decision to the highly touted Michael Morales.

A different welterweight matchup between Jonny Parsons and Yusaku Kinoshita was cancelled when Parsons was pulled form the card for undisclosed reasons and a replacement opponent was not found.

Also, a flyweight scrap between Allan Nascimento and Jafel Filho was pulled altogether, with Nascimento being unable to compete due to illness.

The event, which takes place at the UFC Apex facility in Nevada, is headlined by a rematch between seasoned heavyweights Marcin Tybura and Serghei Spivac. They fought in February 2020, with Tybura winning a three-round unanimous decision.
