UFC flyweight fighter Maryna Moroz has been suspended one year for violating the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.
The organization announced this week that Moroz had tested positive for the banned substance meldonium on two separate occasions on out of competition samples earlier this year.
Meldonium is prohibited at all times in the Hormones and Metabolic Modulators category on the UFC Prohibited List.
The first sample was collected during an out of competition drug screening in Boca Raton, Fla., on June 25, 2025 and the second was on July 16, 2025. Combat Sports Anti-Doping, which oversees the UFC’s anti-doping program, stated that because Moroz was not notified of the first adverse sample at the time of the second sample collection three weeks later, “both adverse findings are considered a single violation.”
Moroz’s 12-month period of ineligibility is retroactive to July 17, one day after the second sample collection, which means she will not be eligible to compete until July 17, 2026.
The 33-year-old from Ukraine had not fought since March of 2024 and did not have an upcoming fight scheduled.
Moroz is 6-6 in her UFC career since debuting in 2015 with notable wins over Joanne Calderwood and Mayra Bueno Silva. She has lost three in a row dating back to 2022.
