Toronto has its headline fights for when the UFC returns in January.
Joshua Van will look to defend his flyweight belt against Manel Kape in the main event at UFC 336, while the co-main will feature an interim welterweight bout between Carlos Prates and Michael Morales, the promotion announced on Saturday.
Van (18-2) is coming off a successful title defence against Alexandre Pantoja in September. The 25-year-old is currently riding an eight-fight win streak, which includes his last three all being for the belt.
His last loss came on July 13, 2024 to Charles Johnson, representing his only loss in the UFC.
Across the octagon is Kape (23-7), a 32-year-old set to fight for the title for the first time in the UFC.
Kape has won his last four bouts — all finishes — and is the No. 1-ranked flyweight challenger.
In the co-main event is a matchup between two fighters making their title-fight debuts in Prates and Morales.
Prates (24-7) has one loss over his last 14 fights across multiple promotions, and all 13 of his wins have been by finish. The 33-year-old top-ranked welterweight contender is riding a three-fight win streak, with his last coming over former champ Jack Della Maddalena in May.
Meanwhile, Morales will enter the octagon with his undefeated record on the line (19-0).
The 27-year-old is the No. 3 ranked challenger in the division and sports impressive victories over Sean Brady, Gilbert Burns and Neil Magny.
