Laurier scores two defensive touchdowns in blanking of McMaster in U Sports

Laurier's defence scored two touchdowns en route to a 22-0 blanking of host McMaster in U Sports football Saturday.

Defensive back Ryan Long returned a 45-yard fumble recovery and linebacker Patrick Burke Jr. ran an interception back 36 yards to score in the first quarter.

Dawson Hodge kicked field goals from 11 and 10 yards in Laurier's victory. Quarterback Connor Carusello threw for 200 yards and was intercepted twice.

Toronto thrashed York 25-2, Western dumped Windsor 54-10 and Queen's blanked Carleton 45-0 in other OUA games Saturday.

Mount Allison downed Saint Mary's 24-14 and Bishop's edged Acadia 15-14 in the AUS.

Montreal defeated Concordia 31-19 in the RSEQ. Manitoba beat defending Calgary 28-20 in Canada West.

Mount Allison 24 St. Mary's 14

Reece Martin and Terrel Connell returned second-half interceptions for Mounties touchdowns. Saint Mary's quarterback Brent Maisonneuve threw for 227 yards, but was intercepted four times.

Toronto 25 York 2

Clay Sequeira threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Nolan Lovegrove and Cody Hale scored on a 49-yard interception return for the Varsity Blues. Toronto's Chris MacLean kicked field goals from 16 and 22 yards.

Western 54 Windsor 10

Keon Edwards rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns for the Mustangs. Western's Keanu Yazbeck also scored on one of his five carries and Griffin Campbell caught a touchdown pass.

Bishop's 15 Acadia 14

Louis-Philippe Gregoire scored a six-yard rushing touchdown and Noah Laursen kicked the winning convert for the Gaiters in the final minute. Gregoire had two TDs in the game.

Montreal 31 Concordia 19

Bert Beaulieu ran for 151 yards and led the Carabins with a pair of rushing touchdowns. Hassane Dosso contributed a touchdown catch to the win.

Calgary 20 Manitoba 28

Breydon Stubbs, Macho Bockru and Kai Madsen scored the Bisons' touchdowns. Manitoba's Cole Sabourin kicked another eight point.

Queen's 45 Carleton 0

Queen's quarterback James Keenan threw for 251 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Rasheed Tucker and Anthony had touchdown catches while Sebastian Hansen and Sakhia Kwemo scored rushing TDs for the Golden Gaels.

Saskatchewan 54 Alberta 27

Huskies quarterback Mason Nyhus completed 20-of-33 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns with an interception. Adam Marchart rushed for 132 yards and touchdown on 11 carries.

UBC 31 Regina 30 (OT)

Trey Kellogg's two-point convert in overtime gave the Thunderbirds their first win of the year after rallying from a 23-0 deficit heading into the fourth quarter. Kellogg's game-winning catch came after Isaiah Knight's one-yard TD run. Regina's Kyle Borsa scored from one yard out on the opening possession of the extra session.

Guelph 27 Waterloo 10

Clark Barnes returned a kickoff 108 yards for a touchdown for Guelph. He also had an 11-yard TD grab, finishing with nine receptions for 92 yards. Waterloo's Tre Ford threw for 159 yards with a touchdown and interceptions while also rushing for 171 yards on 15 carries.
