Carleton wins Panda Bowl on last-second Hail Mary

The Carleton Ravens defeated the Ottawa Gee-Gees in CIS football competition.

OTTAWA — Backup quarterback Jesse Mills threw a 55-yard touchdown pass to receiver Nathaniel Behar on the game’s final play to give the Carleton Ravens a dramatic 33-31 comeback win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the annual Panda Bowl in CIS football action on Saturday.

Nick Gorgichuk started the game for Carleton (1-1), completing 23 of 34 passes for 318 yards and two touchdowns, while Behar had 276 yards receiving and three scores. Mills’ last-second TD play was his only pass of the game.

Mack Tommy ran for a game-high 152 yards and a touchdown for Ottawa (2-1).

Gee-Gees quarterback Derek Wendel completed 16 of 28 passes for 180 yards and no touchdowns.

KINGSTON, Ont. — Quarterback Jazz Lindsey threw for 345 yards and three touchdowns to help lead Guelph (3-1) to victory over Queen’s (0-4). Lindsey also rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns.
