Gee-Gees advance to women’s soccer final with win over Marauders

OTTAWA — Emma Lefebvre scored twice as the Ottawa Gee-Gees downed the McMaster Marauders 4-1 on Saturday to advance to the U Sports women’s soccer championship game.

Mikayla Morton had one goal and set up two more and Katherine Bearne also scored for Ottawa, which will play Trinity Western for gold on Sunday while McMaster takes on Cape Breton in the bronze-medal match.

Lindsay Bosveld had the lone goal for the Marauders.

Earlier Saturday, Trinity Western advanced to the final with a 2-1 comeback victory over Cape Breton.

Amy Gartke and Kathryn Harvey scored second-half goals for the Spartans.

Rachel Leck had the lone goal for the Capers in the first half.
