Montreal Carabins running back Sean Thomas Erlington had the game of his life on Saturday and now has a CIS player of the week honour to show for it.

The junior rushed for one touchdown and a career-best 186 yards against Laval and its top-ranked defence, also catching four passes for 28 yards. He finished with 216 all-purpose yards in Montreal’s 22-16 win.

UBC defensive back Stavros Katsantonis and Guelph returner Ryan Nieuwesteeg also took home the weekly CIS honours for the period ending Oct. 17.

Katsantonis contributed to several big plays in the Thunderbirds’ 54-10 win over Alberta. His day included a 61-yard fumble return touchdown, two interceptions and 5.5 tackles.

Nieuwesteeg compiled 286 return yards as the Gryphons beat Windsor 41-27 on Saturday.
