University of Alberta track and field star Ashley Whiteman has a future dinner lined up with former WWE wrestler and actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

In a Q&A article posted Saturday on the U Sports website, Whiteman listed Johnson as someone that she’d love to have dinner with.

“Less for the specific sports he was involved in and more for the person he is and where he came from,” Whiteman said. “He’s hardworking, funny and gives back where it’s due. I love his attitude and how he goes about life so I think dinner with him would be nothing but fun.”

Johnson caught wind of the article and quote tweeted it on Monday, agreeing to the dinner arrangement.

Whiteman, from Devon, Alta., won the U Sports 300 metre title in 2016 while also helping the Pandas to a 2×200 gold and 4×400 bronze. She won the Canada West women’s track athlete of the year in 2017 and is also a three-time first team All-Canadian.
