Three quarterfinal spots remain up for grabs on what should be a thrilling final day of pool play at the World Baseball Classic.
Regardless of what happens on Wednesday, Puerto Rico, Japan, Korea, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela know they will advance.
Canada and the U.S., meanwhile, are two of the countries still in the running for the final quarterfinal berths.
Here's a rundown of each pool heading into Wednesday's play:
Pool A
Puerto Rico (3-1) has advanced.
Canada (2-1) and Cuba (2-1) square off Wednesday (3 p.m. ET / noon PT, Sportsnet, Sportsnet+) for the final spot. Canada would win the pool with a victory after knocking off Puerto Rico on Tuesday.
Pool B
Italy (3-0), the U.S. (3-1) and Mexico (2-1) are in a battle for two quarterfinal spots.
Mexico faces Italy in the pool finale Wednesday (7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT, Sportsnet+).
Italy and the U.S. advance if the Italians wins.
If Mexico wins, there is a three-way tie. The tiebreaker is ranked based on runs allowed divided by defensive outs recorded in head-to-head games.
While extra innings could throw things off, if Mexico scores five or more runs in a nine-inning game against Italy, the U.S. would advance.
Anything less than five runs by Mexico in a nine-inning win eliminates the U.S.
If Canada wins and the Americans finish second in their pool, the North American rivals would clash in the quarterfinals.
Pool C
Japan (4-0) and Korea (2-2) have advanced.
Pool D
The Dominican Republic (3-0) and Venezuela (3-0) have advanced. They battle for top spot in the pool on Wednesday (8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, Sportsnet+).
