Marcus Nguyen's hat trick led the Brandon Wheat Kings past the Saskatoon Blades 5-2 on Wednesday night in the Western Hockey League.
Nguyen scored all three goals in the second period — bringing his season total to 33 in 63 games — as Brandon built 3-0 and 4-1 leads.
Luke Shipley had a goal and an assist while Caleb Hadland, into an empty net, also scored for the Wheat Kings.
Carson Bjarnason made 28 saves for the win.
Zach Olsen and Tanner Scott replied for Saskatoon. Ethan McCallum stopped 28 shots.
Both teams have already clinched spots in the WHL playoffs.
Elsewhere in the WHL, Daniel Hauser made 26 saves to backstop the Calgary Hitmen to a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings in a battle between Alberta's biggest cities.
Kooper Gizowski scored twice as the Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the Prince Albert Raiders 5-3, and Brett Calhoon converted the winner as the Red Deer Rebels edged the Swift Current Broncos 3-2.
Later, Luka Shcherbyna scored a pair in the Wenatchee Wild's 5-2 win over the Kamloops Blazers, and Tyler MacKenzie buried the winner as the Everett Silvertips topped the Spokane Chiefs 3-2.
