Aces point guard Chelsea Gray wins 2022 WNBA Finals MVP

Watch as Chelsea Gray wins the WNBA Finals MVP trophy after a record-breaking playoff run that saw her score or assist on 379 of Las Vegas' points, the most in WNBA playoff history.

Las Vegas Aces point guard Chelsea Gray has won the WNBA Finals MVP award after leading her team to its first championship Sunday afternoon.

Gray averaged 18.3 points per game in the Finals, and scored 20 in the series-clinching Game 4, while shooting 45 per cent from three and averaging six assists per game.

The win was Gray's second WNBA championship after winning one with the Los Angeles Sparks in 2016.

"I worked so hard for this," Gray said in an interview with ESPN while accepting the award, fighting back tears. "This is great but that team trophy, that's what I've been hurting for."

The Aces beat the Connecticut Sky 78-71 in Game 4 to win the best-of-five Finals three games to one.
