Angel Reese's league-leading rebounding numbers have earned her an end-of-season award.
The Atlanta Dream star has been named Defensive Player of the Year for the 2026 season, the league announced on Thursday. She received 46 votes from a panel of 74 sports reporters.
Reese averaged a league-high 12.1 rebounds and ranks third in the W with 1.8 steals per game. Over 43 games, she totalled 77 steals.
The 24-year-old became the first player in league history to reach at least 500 rebounds in a season. She finished the year with 521 — 206 of which were offensive rebounds.
On Aug. 24, Reese had a record-setting 26 rebounds against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Reese's mom was sent to present the award and celebrate the moment.
The Dream are fresh off a sweep of the Washington Mystics in the first round of the playoffs. Their series against the Liberty begins on Oct. 4
