DiJonai Carrington's season is over.
The Minnesota Lynx announced Saturday that the guard suffered a mid-left foot sprain in their Game 2 win over the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday, and Carrington will miss the remainder of the 2025 season.
The 27-year-old joined the Lynx mid-way through the year via trade after spending her first 20 games with the Dallas Wings — signalling a tale of two halves for Carrington, switching from the last-place team in the WNBA this year, to a top-seeded Minnesota squad.
Carrington made 11 regular-season appearances with the Lynx, averaging 8.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.2 steals on 48.5/45.5/76.0 per cent shooting splits. In what'll go down as her final game of the 2025 campaign, last year's Most Improved Player award winner put up 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting and a block in 14 minutes of action as Minnesota bounced Golden State and advanced to the WNBA semifinals.
The Lynx will now prepare to take on the fourth-seeded Phoenix Mercury in Game 1 of their second-round series on Sunday, without Carrington. Minnesota entered the post-season with a league-best 34-10 record, posting a new mark for single-season wins in franchise history.
