The Houston Comets are now officially back.
The returning WNBA franchise, replacing the Connecticut Sun, revealed its new logo and branding ahead of rejoining the league for the 2027 season.
The new branding has a modern twist while still incorporating the colours from their original run. The logo features an "H" with a basketball comet shooting through, in the iconic navy blue, red and white colour scheme.
"Rooted in purpose and legacy, our ascending 'H' represents ambition, progress and the pursuit of greatness," the Comets wrote on X about their new logo.
The logo additionally features four stars in the "H", one for each of the Comets' WNBA Championships.
Houston was the first dynasty in WNBA history, winning four consecutive titles from 1997-2000. Those four championships have them tied with the Minnesota Lynx and Seattle Storm for the most all time.
The Comets were originally in the WNBA from 1997-2008, but were disbanded due to a lack of funding. It was announced they were coming back when Tilman Fertitta, owner of the NBA's Houston Rockets, purchased the Sun and moved the franchise.
