The Toronto Tempo announced their full opening-day roster Thursday.
Headlined by Canadian Kia Nurse, fellow veteran guard Marina Mabrey and youngsters in the backcourt Kiki Rice and Lexi Held, the Tempo's first-ever roster "features a blend of veteran leadership, international experience, and first-year talent as the club begins its inaugural WNBA season," per the team's official release.
In a corresponding move Thursday, the Tempo waived Aaliyah Nye, Kitija Laska, and Nina Milic and announced that they will retain the rights to Maria Kliundikova, Adja Kane, Saffron Shiels, Charlisse Dunn and Yvonne Ejim.
Rookie centre Mariella Fasoula is on the roster on a developmental contract.
The Tempo begin their inaugural season Friday against the Washington Mystics at home.
