The Toronto Tempo's injury-depleted roster is getting some much needed relief.
Developmental players Ornella Bankole and Zaay Green have been converted to regular contracts because of roster hardships, the team announced on Friday.
The Tempo have only one remaining developmental player activation but also have three players on the injury list with four games left in the season. Converting these two contracts ensures the team can dress and play more than seven players in the remaining games without fear of running out of developmental-player activations.
Bankole signed her developmental contract on June 29 and is averaging 13.5 minutes, 3.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. Green signed her developmental contract on Aug. 11 and has appeared in three games for the team.
Brittney Sykes (foot), Aneesah Morrow (knee) and Marina Mabrey (right adductor) have all been ruled out for the season. Maria Conde is listed as questionable due to illness for Friday's game against the Indiana Fever.
