Emma Cechova led the way with 16 points as the Minnesota Lynx topped expansion Toronto Tempo in pre-season action.
The Tempo were playing their second game of the pre-season after falling to the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday in Toronto.
On Friday, Elizabeth Balogun paced the Tempo's offence with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting. The rookie forward also knocked down two of her three shots from behind the three-point arc.
First-round pick Kiki Rice also reached double-digits in the loss, dropping 10 points while taking seven shots.
The Tempo scored 21 points in the second quarter to take a one-point lead into halftime, but only shot 15.4 per cent from three in the second half as the Lynx were able to lock down defensively.
Chechova did most of her work offensively in the second half, scoring 12 points, grabbing three rebounds and blocking two shots.
With the win, Minnesota improved to 3-0 on the pre-season.
Toronto will now look forward to its first regular-season contest, when it hosts the Washington Mystics on Friday.
