As the Toronto Tempo prepare for their inaugural season, they've made sure to look the part as one of the WNBA's newest teams.
The expansion franchise unveiled its Rebel Edition alternate jerseys on Friday ahead of its season-opening matchup against the Washington Mystics.
"Rebel" uniforms are part of the WNBA-wide alternate program, meant to reflect energy, spirit, values and local influences from each team.
The Tempo's alternate threads are designed to represent "Canada's team," as explained in a team statement. "Tempo" sits centre on the front of the jerseys while the team's secondary "T" logo anchors the design. The uniform also features the Tempo's trademark speedlines that represent pace, movement and the team's preferred style of play.
The base of the Rebel uniforms is Borealis Blue, providing a cool, "northern counterpoint" to their Tempo Bordeaux Explorer Edition and White Heroine Edition threads.
“The Rebel uniform is where we push boundaries and fully express who we are as the Toronto Tempo,” said the Tempo's chief marketing officer Whitney Bell in a statement. “It’s bold, unapologetic, and rooted in the energy of our city. Every detail is designed to celebrate individuality, creativity, and the next generation of athletes and fans redefining the game. This jersey isn’t just something you wear- it’s a statement about where we’re going.”
