Kiki Rice is being recognized for her outstanding season in Toronto.
Despite missing 16 games with a grade 3 ankle sprain, the Toronto Tempo's first-ever draft selection has been named to the 2026 WNBA All-Rookie Team, the league announced Wednesday.
The sixth-overall pick averaged 13.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists across 28 regular-season games, where she averaged 27.1 minutes a game.
The 22-year-old started in 20 games and ranked fourth among all rookies in scoring while shooting 47.2 per cent from the field and a 35.1 per cent from the three.
“We are incredibly proud of Kiki and everything she accomplished in her first WNBA season,” said general manager Monica Wright Rogers in a statement. “When we selected Kiki as the first draft pick in franchise history, we believed she had the talent, poise and work ethic to become an important part of what we are building in Toronto.
Rice's rookie season ended on a high with a career-best 28-point game in Connecticut where she also tied her personal record with eight rebounds.
With the award, Rice becomes the first player in Tempo history to recieve an official end-of-season honour.
The full All-Rookie Team includes Olivia Miles of the Minnesota Lynx, Azzi Fudd of the Dallas Wings, Flau'jae Johnson of the Seattle Storm, Pauline Astier of the New York Liberty, Sydney Taylor of the Chicago Sky and Rice. Rice tied Astier for the fifth spot in the ranking.
