The Valkyries have begun to welcome familiar faces back to the roster.
Following the end of Great Britain's participation in the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket tournament, the Golden State Valkyries have welcomed back centre Temi Fagbenle. In a corresponding move, guard Aerial Powers has been waived, the team announced.
Fagbenle has been a key piece on the new roster, contributing an average of 10.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Over her 10 games in Golden State, the international star has averaged 25.8 minutes, a significant increase from the 13.0 minutes she averaged during the first 100 games of her career.
Fagbenle is just one of several Valkyries players who were dismissed to play in the overseas tournament. Other players who are there instead of with the team include: Janelle Salaün, Iliana Rupert, Justė Jocytė, Cecilia Zandalasini, and Julie Vanloo.
The 32-year-old only missed three games due to the tournament, but is expected to also sit out during the Valkyries' Wednesday night contest against the New York Liberty.
Powers was drafted fifth overall in the 2016 draft and has bounced around the league as she played for the Wings, Mystics, Lynx and Dream. She only played in two games for the Valkyries this season.
