The Toronto Tempo have begun building their inaugural roster.
With a little more than a month before the official start of the season on May 8, there's still plenty for the Tempo to do, and it all begins with Friday's expansion draft.
The Portland Fire are also joining the WNBA this year, meaning it is a shared expansion draft. The Fire will pick first — their consolation prize after the Tempo won a coin flip last week and opted for the earlier available pick in the WNBA draft — and then the two teams will alternate, with each making six picks per round through two rounds of the snake-style draft.
