Tiffany Hayes sticking around in the Bay
After joining the Golden State Valkyries in free agency last off-season, Tiffany Hayes is re-upping with the side on a one-year deal. The 2024 sixth player of the year, Hayes excelled on both ends as a starter for the upstart Valkyries, averaging 11.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and three assists while shooting 40.6 per cent from three-point range.

Aliyah Boston signs largest contract in WNBA history
The Indiana Fever are spending big to keep their core around for the future. All-WNBA centre Aliyah Boston signed a record-breaking four-year deal worth $6.3 million, according to a report from ESPN's Alexa Philippou. The former No. 1 overall pick from 2023 averaged 15 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists last season while guiding the Fever to the WNBA semifinals.
Sabrina Ionescu re-ups with Liberty on three-year extension
The Liberty make it three as they put pen to paper with superstar guard Sabrina Ionescu, who earned her fourth All-WNBA selection last year after averaging 18.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists. However, her shooting efficiency took a tumble as she shot a career-low 29.9 per cent from three-point range.
Breanna Stewart re-signs with Liberty on multi-year max deal
As was expected this off-season, the New York Liberty are running it back, re-signing superstar forward Breanna Stewart to a three-year, standard max contract worth 17 per cent of the salary cap each season. The two-time MVP averaged 18.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists last season in something of a down year for the all-time forward.

Napheesa Collier signs supermax with Lynx
One of the best players in the WNBA is now getting paid like one as Collier, a four-time All-WNBA selection, signed a one-year, $1.4 million supermax to return to the Lynx, per ESPN's Kendra Andrews. Though she's set to miss the start of the season after dual ankle surgery, Collier remains the cornerstone of the Lynx after averaging 22.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks last season.
April 15
Odyssey Sims returns to Wings
After spending five of her 12 NBA seasons with the Wings franchise, Sims returns to Dallas in 2026 on a one-year deal. The 33-year-old split 2025 between the Sparks and Fever, averaging 10.1 points, 3.5 assists and 2.4 rebounds over 32 games.
Betnijah Laney-Hamilton rejoins Liberty after year away
One of the best role players in the league, Laney-Hamilton is sticking around with the team that she won a title with two seasons ago. She missed the 2025 campaign with an off-season knee injury, but in her last full campaign in 2024, she averaged 11.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists to help the Liberty win their first-ever title.
Fever sign another guard in Shatori Walker-Kimbrough

Guard Dara Mabrey has signed a training camp contract with Canada's new WNBA team, the team announced on Wednesday. Dara is the younger sister of Marina Mabrey, who the Tempo selected in the expansion draft and later signed to a two-year max contract. She most recently played four games in Australia's NBL with the Norwood Flames. She averaged 20.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.0 steals.
Chennedy Carter eyeing return to WNBA with Aces
The defending Champion Las Vegas Aces are bringing in a gritty WNBA veteran. Guard Chennedy Carter has signed a training camp deal with the Aces, the team announced on Wednesday. Carter's last WNBA season came in 2024, when she averaged 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals — finishing fourth in Most Improved Player of the Year voting. She did not play in the WNBA last season after the Chicago Sky declined to extend Carter a qualifying offer and the 27-year-old went unsigned in free agency.
Han Xu returning to Liberty after time away
After spending the past few seasons overseas, Han Xu is returning to the New York Liberty. The 26-year-old Chinese centre is one of the tallest players in the WNBA, standing at six-foot-10. In 2023, her last season in the league, she only made eight appearances and averaged 1.5 points and 0.9 rebounds.

Alysha Clark joining Wings
The Dallas Wings are bringing in some championship DNA and some grit off the bench, signing Alysha Clark to a one-year deal, per ESPN's Alexa Philippou. Clark split time last season between the Seattle Storm and Washington Mystics, averaging 3.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 42 games.
Monique Akoa Makani re-signing with Mercury
After a strong rookie season, Akoa Makani is set to re-up with the Mercury and will give Phoenix another returning piece from its runner-up side last season. The 25-year-old Cameroonian guard averaged 7.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 39.8 per cent from range.
Tempo bring in size with Temi Fágbénlé
Needing centre depth after prioritizing guards in the expansion draft and free agency, the Tempo are bringing in one of the better available post players and paint protectors in Temi Fagbenle. Having played with the Valkyries last season, she has also been around an expansion team for their inaugural year, giving the side some valuable experience ahead of the 2026 campaign.
Mercury re-sign forward Natasha Mack
The Mercury are running most of their WNBA Finals runner-up team back. After re-signing Alyssa Thomas, DeWanna Bonner and Kahleah Copper, Pheonix is bringing back the big forward Mack, who averaged 4.7 points and 5.8 rebounds in 2025.
Fire build up backcourt depth with Sug Sutton
After picking guard Iyana Martin — who will remain overseas for the 2026 season — with their first-ever draft selection, the Fire are adding a bit more to their backcourt for their inaugural campaign. Sutton, 27, averaged 7.4 points and 3.9 assists in 43 games with the Mystics in 2025.

At long last, the WNBA's first Canadian team has signed its first Canadian player. Thirty-year-old wing and Hamilton, Ont., native Kia Nurse is joining the team on a one-year deal after spending the past three seasons bouncing around the league. She averaged 7.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game last season while shooting 33.5 per cent from deep.

Rae Burrell sticking around in Los Angeles
The Sparks are keeping versatile wing Rae Burrell around after she averaged a career-best 7.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists last season while playing 18.4 minutes per game in her fourth year. She was drafted by the Sparks ninth overall in 2022.
Mystics match Tempo's offer sheet for Shakira Austin
The Washington Mystics aren't letting their star young centre get snatched away so easily as they match the Tempo's three-year, $3.57 million offer sheet for Shakira Austin. The 25-year-old big averaged a career-high 12.7 points last season to go along with 6.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.

After re-signing Kelsey Plum and Dearica Hamby, and adding Nneka Ogwumike, the Sparks' spending spree continued with the re-upping of Vanloo, who joined the team via the waiver wire midway through last season.
Wings upgrade guard depth with Lindsay Allen
The Dallas Wings are bringing in some veteran help behind Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers. Lindsay Allen is joining the Texan side after spending last season with the Connecticut Sun, where she averaged 2.4 points and two assists in 14.5 minutes a night, mostly off the bench.

DeWanna Bonner sticking around in Phoenix
The Phoenix Mercury are re-signing yet another piece of the roster that brought them to the WNBA Finals last season. Bonner joined the Mercury midway through last season after being waived by the Indiana Fever and averaged 10.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and one assist in 24 games back with the team that drafted her in 2009.
Jade Melbourne heading back to Seattle
Jade Melbourne is on her way back to the team that drafted her back in 2022. The 22-year-old Australian guard agreed on a one-year, $500,000 deal to head back to the Seattle Storm after spending two seasons with the Washington Mystics.
Portland nabs centre C Gustafsson from Vegas
After staying mostly quiet in free agency up to this point, the Fire are finally adding some size to their front-court rotation. They agreed to a two-year, $1.025 million deal with Megan Gustafson, providing the expansion side with some championship experience and a six-foot-four frame.

Toronto signed both guards Marina Mabrey and Brittney Sykes to multi-year deals with its first-ever free agency moves.
The Tempo gave Mabrey their core designation, which allowed the team exclusive negotiation rights. She signed a two-year, $2.4 million deal. Sykes, meanwhile, is the team's first true free-agent signing, snatching her talents from the Seattle Storm.
