The Dallas Wings are keeping their backcourt together for the foreseeable future.
The Wings are re-signing Arike Ogunbowale to a seven-figure, multi-year deal, sources told ESPN's Alexa Philippou. Ogunbowale was eligible for a 2026 supermax worth $1.4M but chose a lower number to help Dallas improve roster depth and quality.
Ogunbowale has averaged 19.9 points, four assists, and 3.2 rebounds over her WNBA career while playing just above 34 minutes per game across her seven seasons.
She has been named to four all-star teams, three all-WNBA teams and won the 2020 scoring title.
In 2025, she posted 15.5 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game, shooting 36.4 per cent, while working alongside rookie of the year Paige Bueckers as the team's lead ball handlers.
A year earlier in 2024, she played one of her strongest seasons, averaging 22.2 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.6 rebounds, playing nearly 38 minutes per game as a major player for the Wings' offence.
She was drafted fifth overall by the Wings in 2019.
With Ogunbowale locked in this upcoming season, Dallas keeps its franchise cornerstone while gaining cap flexibility to build around her and Bueckers.
The Wings now shift focus to adding depth and defensive support to push further in the Western Conference, and can look to add another key piece with the first-overall pick in the WNBA Draft on Monday.
